Habitat for Humanity’s Homeownership Program

Our utmost priority during the threat of COVID-19 (coronavirus) is doing our best to keep our Habitat community safe and well-informed. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING HOME APPLICATIONS AT THIS TIME. Please watch for updated information which will include a new application deadline.

Simple. Decent. Affordable.
Do you dream of owning your own home? Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod may be able to work with you to make your dreams come true. The unique Habitat for Humanity program offers the opportunity to own a home for an affordable monthly mortgage payment. We caution potential homeowner families that the process can be lengthy and that you can expect to work hard. But if you are successful, you will benefit from the security and peace of mind that owning a home can provide.

Applications are now open for 6 affordable homes for purchase to be built on Murray Lane, Harwich and 1 affordable home to be built at 15 Quanset Road in Orleans.

Do I Qualify for a Habitat Home?

Applicant households must be income eligible with a maximum 60% of area median income by household size for some homes (example $54,900 currently, for a family of 4); and at 65% for some homes ($59,475 for a family of 4). Applicant households must be willing to commit many hours of sweat equity to building the home and have a housing need.

The monthly housing payment (mortgage, taxes, insurance, home owner association fees) for these homes is estimated to be around $670- $750 per month depending on cost of taxes, insurance, and other terms.
