Our Projects

Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has built over 150 affordable homes in all 15 towns on Cape Cod. In 2020 we completed 2 homes in Wellfleet and 1 home in Mashpee and 7 homes in Brewster. And we began volunteer construction on one home in Orleans and 2 homes in Mashpee.

In 2021 we hope to begin 6 homes in Harwich and 10 in Falmouth.

On the Drawing Board

93-97 Route 28, Harwich

Now known as Murray Lane. The 6 foundations are underway! If all goes as planned, we will raise walls at Murray Lane in May or June 2021. Applications for the homes were opened on October 1, 2020, with an application deadline of December 1st.

Barrows Road (now Willett Way) , Falmouth

We are still waiting for Building permits for this 10-home project. When the permits are issued, we will begin putting in the foundations. We will raise walls at Willett Way in June 2021 (6 homes) and May 2022 (4 homes).

Route 6, Truro

181 Route 6, 3 homes - Our 40B Comprehensive Permit approval by the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), was appealed by a neighbor. A trial was held in November 2019, with a decision for the plaintiff in March 2020. We have gone back to the "drawing board" and expect to have updated information about this project by winter 2021.

Old Kings Highway, Wellfleet

Old Kings Highway - Our 40B Comprehensive Permit for four homes which was approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) in July 2019 has been appealed by several abutters. We are working our way through the judicial process. We do not expect to have a judgment until Summer 2021. We will provide more information as we are able.

George Ryder Road South, Chatham

Our “no appeal” period for our ZBA decision has expired, and we will record the decision and soon close on the land. We plan to begin infrastructure work on this project beginning in the late fall 2021 with a wall raising in 2022.

Great Neck Road North, Mashpee

Now known as Mendes Way. We raised walls in October 2020. And are making great progress on this site.

We continue to wait for a Land Court approved subdivision plan for Cotuit Road. We had good news at our Sandwich Board of Selectmen appearance on Thursday, October 22nd where the board unanimously affirmed the conditional transfer of nitrogen credits from Evsun Road to Nauset Street. We will soon finalize our Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) application and submit to the Town of Sandwich.

Quanset Road, Orleans

We continue to make progress on our two-bedroom home at 15 Quanset Road. The walls are going up any day now, and we are very excited to work with our selected home buyer—together—building her home.

Red Top Road, Brewster

On August 27, 2020 the Brewster Housing Partnership unanimously supported our Red Top Road project. We are planning two homes on this site. One with a veteran preference, meaning priority will be given to a veteran and/or veteran’s family (pending Department of Housing and Community Development approval). We will submit our LIP (Local Initiative Project) application to Brewster’s Board of Selectmen at their December 21st meeting.
