Affordable Homeownership Application Period for One Home in Pocasset (Bourne)

Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has announced that the affordable homeownership application period for one three-bedroom home on Horne Avenue in Pocasset (Bourne) has been extended for thirty days (June 18 – July 20, 2026). Applicant households need to make at or less than 80% of the Barnstable County 2025 Area Median Income (AMI).
You May Qualify for Habitat Homeownership if You Are:
- In critical need of year-round affordable housing and
- Willing to complete the required “sweat equity” on your home and other Habitat projects (500 hours for a two-adult household – 250 hours for a one-adult household), and
- Able to make housing payments of approximately $2,071 per month for Horne Avenue home in Pocasset (Bourne), and
- Unable to qualify for conventional mortgage financing of a market-rate house, and
- First-time home buyer (some exceptions apply; described in application packet), and
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Applicants are strongly urged to attend one of the in-person or virtual Zoom Habitat Cape Cod Application/Information Workshops for prospective buyers.

Local families help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat Cape Cod homes are deed-restricted to remain affordable in perpetuity.
