About the Artist: Marieluise Hutchinson
Marieluise Hutchinson is a self-taught artist whose work is a quiet meditation on the “roads less traveled.”
Splitting her time between Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, and Cushing, Maine, she finds endless inspiration in the distinct seasons and character of New England.
Her paintings are defined by a “tangible silence”, a thoughtful recording of rural America’s vanishing homesteads and rolling farmlands.
Though figures are rarely present, a warm human presence is always felt through a glowing window, smoke from a farmhouse chimney, or a freshly built snowman.
Marieluise is a Copley Master at the Copley Society of Boston and a Master Artist at the Cape Cod Art Center; her work is held in the permanent collections of the Cape Cod Museum of Art and the Cahoon Museum of American Art.
